Dave Foreman Book Signing 5/1/13

WildSouth sponsored Dave Foreman, The Rewilding Institute’s founder and environmental icon for a book signing at OM Sanctuary. Foreman is the accomplished author of Confessions of an EcoWarrior, Rewilding America, and others. It was a wonderful turn out and a beautiful day filling OM Sanctuary’s gardens with fun and laughter.  If you know Dave you know his laugh.

His focus is best stated from his excerpt from Confessions of an EcoWarrior, “There is another way to think about a man’s relationship to the natural world, an insight pioneered by the nineteenth-century conservationist and mountaineer John Muir and later by the science of ecology. This is the idea that all things are connected, interrelated, that human beings are merely one of the millions of species that have been shaped by the process of evolution for three and a half billion years. According to this view, all living beings have the same right to be here. This is how I see the world.”

If we remember correctly, during his book signing Dave ran out of “Take Back Conservation”,which shows those who love wild things why and how they need to take back conservation.  The book is second in the For the Wild Things series of 5 books by The Rewilding Institute.

It was an honor to have Mr. Foreman here at OM Sanctuary.
