Jake Michel “Celebration of Life”

The gardens are open and a clear breeze fills the pathway as old friends of Jake Michel walk silently in honor of a man who was a community visionary. Howard Hanger, Minister of Jubilee, speaks to the group about the kind of man of Jake was, the type of character he carried, and the influence and gifts one received simply by being in the presence of his good nature. Friends were invited to share fond memories of Jake and the Richmond Hill Inn during the intimate ceremony. A thread of qualities unraveled as the stories allowed  Jake’s legacy  to come alive. Peace, beauty, dedication to a vision, and an incredibly big heart: these were the qualities Jake embodied and shared with those who had the chance to meet him.

At the end of the Celebration of Life, dear friends lit candles to honor the impact Jake made while he was here. The candles cradled the waterfall in a warm halo and continued burning into late evening.
